Building A Better World Through Better Business

There was a question that wouldn't leave us alone.

What if business could be more?

Not just a way to earn a living.

Not just a way to build wealth.

Not just a way to grow a company.

What if business could become one of the most powerful forces for good in the world?

For years, we watched incredible business owners do extraordinary things.

They cared deeply about their clients.

They served their communities.

They quietly donated time, money, expertise, and resources to causes they believed in.

Yet much of that work happened in isolation.

The business lived in one place.

The generosity lived somewhere else.

The impact was rarely celebrated.

And we began to wonder:

What if there was a better way?

For nearly two decades, founder Vanessa Pollock has built her business around a simple belief.

A belief that once was taped to the edge of her cubicle when she launched her business:

PUT PEOPLE FIRST, SUCCESS FOLLOWS.

She has always believed that and filtered every business decision through the fact that people matter. and WHEN YOU PUT PEOPLE FIRST, SUCCESS FOLLOWS. Over the years, that belief shaped every client interaction, every community partnership, every charitable initiative, and yes, every single business decision. It became more than a philosophy. It became a way of life.

What began as a philosophy inside Vanessa’s business that has sold more than $1,000,000,000 in real estate (yes, that’s a BILLION) and has raised and given back over $600,000 to charities and local causes, including her own Pollock Arts Initiative, eventually grew into something larger. A realization that this idea and business model didn't belong to her one company, one industry, one brand, and the generosity wasn’t meant for just her community. It belonged everywhere. And the CARE • SERVE • GIVE community of businesses was born.

CARE • SERVE • GIVE was created to bring together consumers, businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders around a shared belief:

Business can change lives. Not only through the products and services it provides. But through the people it serves. The communities it strengthens. And the causes it supports.

Today, CARE • SERVE • GIVE exists to help consumers find businesses they can trust.

To help business owners create meaningful impact.

To help generosity become easier.

And to help build a future where success is measured not only by what we earn, but by what we contribute.

Because we believe something simple.

People matter.

And when you put people first, success follows.

Let’s Build A Better World Together

We're bringing together business owners across all industries and brands who believe success isn't just measured by revenue, it's measured by impact.

The Pollock Arts Initiative

What happens when a business owner sees a need and decides to do something about it?

The Pollock Arts Initiative began with that simple observation.  Founder Vanessa and her family saw that not every child in their school district had the same access to music instruments and decided to do something about it.

Arts education changes lives, and sometimes sadly there are children who don't have the same access to that education as their classmates. Participation in music, theater, visual arts, and creative programs builds confidence, creates belonging, develops leadership skills, and opens doors that might otherwise remain closed. Yet arts programs are often among the first areas impacted by budget constraints.

Rather than accepting that reality, Vanessa’s real estate team Pollock Properties Group partnered with the Achieve Foundation to create the Pollock Arts Initiative. By partnering with her community to make this difference, Pollock Properties Group became a household name for excellent service and giving back, leading to becoming the #1 real estate group in their market.

Expanding Arts Education Opportunities

The Pollock Arts Initiative (PAI) helps underwrite music and arts equipment rentals at the elementary and middle school levels to eliminate financial barriers to student participation in arts programs, supplements Achieve Foundation funding of teacher grant requests for arts-related projects, and may be used to help maintain the district’s inventory of musical instruments and other arts-related equipment and supplies.

Through the PAI, scholarship awards for advanced training are offered to Columbia High School students who demonstrate exceptional talent and are recommended by SOMSD faculty. Awards are tailored to students’ specific needs for private instruction, classes and/or professional quality instruments/art equipment.

Since 2015, 1153 music instruments have been rented for students in the South Orange &. Maplewood School District (NJ) and 117 private lesson scholarships have been awarded to teacher-nominated students.
